Heritage and legacy

A school history carried with care.

PHILLAW honors its founders, its early legal-education roots, and the generations who carried the institution forward.

Founder and origins

Philippine Law School began in 1915 through the work of Don Simeon and Don Ricardo Conlu Lacson.

The recovered historical account identifies the Lacson brothers as founders of the institution, with the collaboration of Don Mariano Jhocson, founder of National University.

The school was established at its first campus in Intramuros, Manila. The same account records that it previously served as the College of Law of National University in Sampaloc, Manila.
